Baby Luke's room
And the transformation is complete! From junky Star Wars room (see post below) to classy, sweet nursery. Our theme is elephants, with a little classic Winnie the Pooh thrown in for good measure. It even comes complete with a "vintage" rocking elephant which was made for me and my sister Anne-Marie Guarnieri by my Uncle Brian Sauer when we were very very little. I hope Luke likes rocking on it as much as we did.
Star Wars room transforms to.....
So it had to be done - the only room in the house that could be transformed into the nursery for baby Luke.
Straight out of the movie "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" is my Star Wars collection. Ten years in the making (I didn't display any of my 30-year-old vintage toys), it only took a couple weeks* to take down. Demolishing it took a lot longer than I thought, but it all had to be put away properly. After all, Luke will eventually own all this junk, right? And now, when I buy more, I have a good excuse: "It's all for the boy Lisa!" ;)
*Ok, it took more like a couple months because I dragged my feet...

Fun at the beach
We spent last weekend at St. Simon's Island in south Georgia to celebrate the retirement of Susan, Lisa's mom. We stayed in a really nice townhouse that was about a 100 yard walk to the beach! It was great being able to roll out of bed and stroll down to the ocean.
I woke up at sunrise every morning and got these photos of Lisa showing off baby Luke in her belly, baby Caleb, and the family portrait.
Lisa and I enjoyed being able to just hang out, sleep, play frisbee and whiffleball, snack, hang out, sleep, walk along the surf, visit town, hang out, watch the Olympics, snack, cook, sleep, take photos, play cards, sleep, and hang out. I really enjoyed the sleeping part because with the impending birth of baby Luke, I know sleep is a commodity that will be in pretty short supply. Oh well, I guess that's why God made coffee, eh?
